Christmas is all about lights! Christmas decorations are everywhere. You see them on the street corner. You see them on businesses. And, of course, you see them in virtually every house. And rightly so, because Christmas is a time to celebrate the arrival of the Light of the world—Jesus. Listen to John as he writes about it:
John 1:4-9
“In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the
darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There came a man sent from
God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so
that all might believe through him. He was not the Light, but he came to testify
about the Light. There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens
every man.”
Jesus is the Light who enlightens us all and brings salvation to us all.
John 8:12
“Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the Light of the world; he who
follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.’”
Following Jesus is how to walk in the light.
John 12:46
“I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.”
Christmas is all about Jesus, the Light of the world. Believe in Jesus and your darkness will disappear!
Merry Christmas!
David L. Allen
